The Assassin’s Creed is historical action-adventure game series has spanned the globe since it debuted in 2007 by Ubisoft. From Ancient Greece to Renaissance Italy to the American Revolution, Assassin’s Creed has consistently delivered rich, atmospheric settings that are a joy to explore.
At the heart of the series is the age-old battle between the Assassins and the Knights Templar. The struggle between the Order of Assassins, who fight for peace and free will, and the Knights Templar, who desire peace through order and control.
Assassin's Creed series are set in an open world and played from the third-person view. Gameplay revolves around combat, stealth, and exploration, including the use of parkour to navigate the environment. The games feature both main and side missions, and some titles also include competitive and cooperative multiplayer game modes.

Assassin's Creed also helps you learn history because it adapts real-world historical events for its plot.
You can buy or download Assassin's Creed Games on Ubisoft or Steam.
Without further ado, here are my top 3 Assassin’s Creed games.
3. Assassin's Creed Origins

Set in: Ancient Egypt, 43-49 BC
Price: $59.99 or IDR 619.000
Release Date: October 27, 2017
Assassin’s Creed Origins was the dawn of a new Assassin’s Creed in the RPG style. Following Assassin's Creed Syndicate in 2015, this is the tenth main Assassin's Creed series.
This series takes place in Egypt between 49 and 43 BC at the close of the Ptolemaic period, follows on a Medjay called Bayek of Siwa and his wife Aya as they seek revenge for their son's death.
The journeys of Bayek and his wife, Aya, are connected. They make a strong team because of each other's affection and sorrow, which drives them on. Aya’s fierce spirit and unwavering loyalty make her a force to be reckoned with. As they navigate the political intrigue and treacherous alliances of ancient Egypt, their bond grows stronger.
“I will be judged one day, but I do not regret my actions. The feather will always be lighter than my heart.” -Bayek of Siwa
The framing story, set in the 21st century, follows a new character, Layla Hassan, who relives Bayek and Aya's memories using a modified Animus device. This cutting-edge technology allows Layla to relive the memories of her ancestors. As she dives into Bayek and Aya’s experiences, she unearths forgotten secrets, hidden temples, and cryptic symbols. But the past isn’t just a historical record—it holds the key to shaping the present.
Why I like Assassin's Creed Origins
The setting, which in this case is Ancient Egypt, is beautifully large and constructed. That's when we seem to be brought back to life. Also, the detailed design differences between poor and rich cities in this game are very significant.
I mostly enjoyed the discovery series and the story/educational part about this game and I think the story on Origins is underrated. Origins was goated and Bayek was one of the best protagonists ever (My first is Ezio Auditore, he is forever in my heart). Bayek's characterization from the beginning until he becomes the leader of the Assassins is very touching, you can really feel his struggle.
I even feel like the 2 games (AC Odyssey and AC Valhalla) following this series, who had the same genre (RPG) didn’t do it as well as this one did.
I absolutely love Origins. It was amazing, and I love it as a different game other than Assassin’s Creed. Just had a great time with this one!
MY RATING: ⭐ 9/10
2. Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag

Set in: 18th Century Caribbean Islands (year 1715)
Price: $39.99 or IDR 409.000
Release Date: October 16, 2013
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was announced with a cinematic trailer on March 4, 2013. You can watch the trailer here
In this series, players will use a character named Edward Kenway, a charismatic and complex character. He came from the Caribbean as a pirate. On his mission, he had to face the Templar Order, which carried out imperial practices in several countries.
“Captains will curse our flag, and kings will fear it. As long as empires generate wealth and riches, we will be there to bleed them dry.”-Edward Kenway
Black Flag focuses more on the pirate aspect, which means you will often travel around using ships, engage in ship-to-ship combat, and looking for treasure rather than killing templars. Revel in the freedom of the open sea, where every island promises discovery, every ship a potential prize. The clash of cutlasses, the roar of cannons—it’s a symphony of chaos, and Edward conducts it with flair.
Fun Fact: Edward Kenway is the grandfather of Assassin’s Creed III protagonist Connor Kenway.
Why I like Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag
I LOVE the whole vibe of this game. The idea of taking the Assassin’s Creed world and meshing it with pirates are brilliant. The fight on the water is fantastic. Every time I fought on the water, it made me think of Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
Personally, being a ship captain is the best part of the game. I enjoyed exploring the high seas more than the storyline, I kept exploring till the point where all that I could was the main storyline.

The map in Black Flag isn’t just lines and contours; it’s a living canvas of adventure. Each island, each cove, whispers secrets of buried treasure, hidden coves, and ancient mysteries. As players, we can become cartographers, tracing our own paths across this maritime wonderland.
Because this map is so beautiful in every single direction, I wouldn't recommend Fast travel here!^^
MY RATING: ⭐ 10/10
1. Assassin's Creed Unity

Set in: 18th Century France (year 1789)
Price: $29.99 or IDR 309.000
Release Date: November 2014
You can watch the trailer here.
Assassin’s Creed Unity tells the story of Arno Dorian, a young man who embarks upon an extraordinary journey to expose the true powers behind the French Revolution.
The main story is set in Paris during the French Revolution from 1789 to 1794, and follows Assassin Arno Dorian and his efforts to expose the true powers behind the Revolution, while seeking revenge against those responsible for his adoptive father's murder.
In the frame plot, which takes place in the 21st century, an anonymous and unseen protagonist seeks as an initiate with the Assassins in order to assist them in locating the dead body of a Templar Grand Master from the 18th century.

The game also introduces cooperative multiplayer to the Assassin's Creed series, letting up to four players engage in narrative-driven missions and explore the open world map.
Why I like Assassin's Creed Unity
I really rocked with the story, the characters, the setting, etc. The game is made more engaging by the stunning and busy city of Paris as well as a number of stealth techniques.
OH- THE PARKOUR! I really really love that. In this series, the parkour system has gone downhill ever. The parkour mechanism is very complex and smooth, making the traversal experience even more exciting.
For the fighting combat, you will find it more difficult and need more strategic thinking, as it's much easier to get battered by angry French guards when you attack a civilian for no reason.
Also, we can also carry out assassination in stealth mode, leap from above (Air Assassinate) and using poison.
MY RATING: ⭐ 10/10
